This position has a dual purpose: Communications Specialist and Regional Advisory Committee (RAC) Coordinator. The successlul candidate will cover both purposes and will be responsible tor leading specific activities in all the tour (4) Y.E.T.A districts (Dokolo. Kole. Masindi and Kiryandongo) and at the national level. This person wil also be charged

with providing specialized technical support to proiect activities as and when need arises.

As Communications Specialist for the YETA project. this person will work under the direction of the Chief of Party and in concert with the Technical and Monitoring & Evaluation teams to ensure that all communications interventions. branding and marketing strategies and public relations of the proiect are well executed. The Specialist will take a lead role in ensuring visibility and good publicity of the YETA project. implementing partners. and The MasterCard Foundation.

As Regional Advisory Committee (RAC) Coordinator. this person. under the direction of the Chiel at Party. coordinates and ensures eflective and timely invoivernent of relevant stakeholders. information sharing. networking and implementation of program activities at district and community levels. The RAC is an inclusive. flexible and non- bureaucratic committee that has been put in place tor the Youth Empowerment through Agriculture (Y.E.T.A) project stakeholders to regularly meet. interact. share inlorrnation and experiences. and learn from each other to enhance elliciency. eliectiveness and sustainability oi implementation of the Y.E.TA project. Through this committee. the participating districts will be able to integrate and implement program activities in their policies. programs and work plans. Awareness about Y.E.TA and The MasterCard Foundation will be created and enhanced. The RAC wil also enhance. ensure and entrench good relations with local government counterparts. Youth Working Groups. private sector institutions. NGOs and the cornmunlties among others.

Required Oscillations and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications. Public Policy or related fields. Master’s degree wil be an added a ge.

  • MI mum of 8 years working experience in communications or public relations working with donor and/or non-govemmental organizations in communication. branding. and publicity.

  • Minimum ol 5 years working experience with donor. government and/or non-govemmental development programs in agriculture and youth development work

  • Networking, communication and public speaking skills are essential tor the position.

0 Previous experience in managing successful communications consultancies.

0 Previous experience working on USAID or other donor- funded programs in which branding and marketing requirements must be adhered to.

  • Proven ability to develop strong and positive working relationship with media houses.

  • Conversant with social media platforms such as Facebook. twitter. etc.

  • Ability to travel irequently and for long durations.

Writing samples or portiolio of work will be requested as part of this application.
