JOB TITLE: DIRECTOR OF FUNDING AND STRATEGY Purpose of Job: • Take responsibility for spearheading strategic plan delivery and review through enhancing the scale and quality of WaterAid’s programme work, ensuring quality documentation and communication. • Take responsibility for technical programme management initiatives, monitoring and evaluation effectiveness, and championing organisation-wide cross learnings. • Lead on all fundraising efforts , including planning, managing and ensuring the delivery of an agreed fundraising budget in a bid to accelerate the growth of fundraising across a diversified range of funding streams to achieve long-term, sustainable Country Programme growth. Develop partnerships and relationships which generate donor funding. • Research, identify and cultivate potential donors.

Principal Responsibilities: Strategic management, fundraising, donor compliance and reporting, grants and contracts management, coordination, networking and relationship building, staff management and development.

The Director of Funding and Strategy will: • Monitor the implementation of WaterAid Uganda’s Programme strategy, and ensure strategic and • Actively support the development of country programme business plans and budgets for the programme, carry out regular budget monitoring and analysis. • Lead the development and implementation of a fundraising strategy that supports strategic goals to accelerate income growth in a sustainable manner across a diverse range of income streams and embed a culture of fundraising across the organisation. • Lead the identification of fundraising opportunities to meet funding requirements. Collaborate with teams to scope opportunities to meet CP funding requirements. • Maintain an effective contract and documentation management system and processes. • Take charge of liaison with all donor organisations supporting in maintaining cordial relationships with the donor community.

Education, experience and skills: • MBA with focus in organisational development, marketing, public relations or social sciences. • 12 years’ experience with six years at senior level in the developing sector. • Knowledge of international donor reporting requirements. • Knowledge of strategic planning, Organisational leadership, relationship building, Program planning
